Seeking: Cool Hangouts on the IndieWeb
Happy July!
It's been a sweltering hot few days here in Atlantic Canada. Really, it's not the heat that gets you so much, it's the humidity (I know, now I have to put a Toonie into the cliche jar). Fantastic weather to sit in my back yard with my trusty laptop and nothing better to do than surf the web like it's the 2000s again -- which is something I've been really enjoying lately.
I've found myself on interesting old-school forums, IRC servers with tiny but friendly communities, countless blogs/personal sites/etc. I like talking about tech, I like to go down philosophical rabbit holes, in general I like connecting with other humans and chatting about the realities of living our little lives. More than anything, I just like learning new things. I know there's plenty of resources for finding new stuff to check out, but I find that comes with a great deal of sifting and I always find the best things nobody's ever heard of from other people directly -- things that aren't necessarily on any list or in a blog post that I'm lucky enough to happen upon.
I don't want this to be a one-way street either, I'll be making my next blog post specifically about neat things that are out there that I don't think I've seen people talk about before.
If you want, email me some neat stuff you've come across, or neat stuff you're hosting yourself, or just neat stuff. Or if you want, email me for a bit of a chat -- I don't bite! My email address will be at the bottom of this post.
Anyway, even if you don't reach out thank you for reading, even though this post is a big ole nothingburger in terms of anything insightful to say. I'm still finding my voice here and figuring out what I have to say that other people might actually find interesting. I'll get there. :-)
Cheers,
